Why we started Your Brand Eyewear
I’ve spent nearly 50 years in the optical industry—repping frames, managing sales teams, leading marketing and product design, and teaching eyecare professionals how to thrive instead of merely survive.
One lesson came up over and over again: an eye doctor wears two hats. Doctor in the exam room. Retailer the moment a patient walks into the optical.
For decades, I heard the same frustration from independent practices. Chains and online retailers could sell frames for less because they skipped the wholesaler and went factory-direct—building their own brands while independents were left paying inflated prices.
In 2018, all the pieces came together when I helped build a small manufacturing operation designed specifically to produce high-quality frames in small quantities. Growth came faster than expected. Within six months, I partnered with a retired multi-location optometrist who had been searching for this exact system his entire career.
